Google goes for more cash – eliminates free keyword tool !
May 6, 2010One of the best free tools on the web ihas been Google’s external keyword tool. What a great help to many thousands of do-it-yourself small businesses, and to webmasters. You could just enter what keyword phrase you think is good, and Google would not only tell you how many times last month that phrase was used, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, Google would show related terms and their volume.
Many times this process showed us better keywords to use in our SEO and social posts than our own.
I have taught the use of this tool in dozens of workshops in the last year, including Internet Marketing and Social Media Marketing for automotive at CIADA, as well as dozens of speaking events and workshops for small business.
Now, as of about May 1, Google requires a login to access the tool, and as of 5-5-10, the results show only data since the change.
DRAT !

Facebook does it again – no more Fans on fan pages
May 6, 2010In the last few days Facebook changed the way fan pages show fans. No longer can you see or find the fans.
Now they show similar info, called “# Friends like this”.
Once again Facebook blurs the lines, confuses the user, and impedes business.
Your thoughts ?

Compile a list of keywords that you think a typical Internet user will type into such search engines as Google and Yahoo. There are websites dedicated to providing statistics on the popularity of keywords. For example, the website www.goodkeywords.com allows you to type in a keyword, such as ‘computer’, and see how many times the keyword was searched for or ranked in the past month. This is an efficient way to determine hot topics of interest.
3. WHO: Let’s say you have investigated the popularity of keywords and have concluded that a popular keyword phrase is ‘home based business’. However, you are not well versed in home based businesses. How are you going to create content about a home based business? The answer is to consult home based business experts.
There are a flurry of home based business websites on the Internet. Seek out at least 12 qualified, reputable home based business experts. Call these experts directly and explain the partnership you could establish for a teleseminar.
Often times these experts will have their own client email lists. Solicit these clients to attend the teleseminar. Allow teleseminar participants to ask the expert several questions. The beauty of the client email lists is that these prospects are already interested in home based business information.teleseminarlive.com, Teleseminar and Webinar Related Info, Jan 2010
